Wolf Creek Ski Area opened on Saturday October 8th and claimed the “1st Opened” title usually taken by ABasin or Loveland. Never Summer hard chargers Micah, Gags, Joey, and Nick woke up at 3am to make the four hour drive to shred on the official first day of the season. This wasn’t the typical day one…a man made ribbon of death. Wolf Creek opened with three feet of powder! The guys spent the day shredding pow, drank a few post epic day brews, and drove all the way home. Here’s hoping everyday this season is this good!

What can we say? Never Summer loves Colorado and we love a good longboard slide…dirt slides, cement slides, asphalt sides, and even puddle slides. Mark Riley is back at it again showing you what longboard freeriding is all about. This time Mark is rocking the Never Summer Revolt. Freeriding isn’t the future, it’s the present and that’s why you too should be rocking the Never Summer Revolt.

We went over to Boulder to catch up with longboard master Mark Riley. He said he wanted to “rip this mellow stretch of road”…. Mellow? Maybe for you dude! This guy can do it all on a longboard. He can cruise, shred the skatepark, bomb hills, and slide a damn longboard like nobodies business. He does all this on Never Summer Longboards equipped with NSA longboard wheels. We’re flattered.

The first-ever Never Summer Moto Jam is going down Labor Day Weekend, Friday, September 2 through Sunday September 4, 2011. The Never Summer crew invites you and your family into the National Forest for a weekend of grilling, camping, maybe some drinking, and MOTO! Many of the Never Summer crew are avid dirt bikers and we’ve found the perfect spot in the mountains of Colorado for what is bound to be an awesome gathering. Hundreds of miles of trails for all ability levels. Sleeping in the forest has never been this awesome!

Chris Corning has been riding for Never Summer since he was 8 years old. His dad, Brook Corning, called Never Summer and told us he wanted to give his son, 11 year old Never Summer Team Rider, a real world view. We were told he had a total of one day of experience interning at Community Skate and Snow in Arvada. 11 years old…one day of experience…and we don’t have to pay him…if he works half as hard as he snowboards he’ll be our best employee. He’s HIRED!

Gino Sasso, Assistant Longboard Manager, 1 year at NS, 1 season on snow; Gino is our resident sports encyclopedia and is the proud father of Jordan Sasso.

Jon Meier, Finishing, .5 years at NS, 7 years on snow; Jon "Napolean Dynamite" came to NS as a skate intern and worked his way into a finishing position. His love for Ligers, the outdoors, and gear prompted his desire to build our products. He is also the only NS employee ever to call in sick on his first day.

Bill Keeney, Programmable Wide Sander Technician, 1 year at NS, 12 years on snow; With great care and expertise Bill mills our custom wood cores to the thousandth of an inch. He uses a programmable wide belt sander which is one of a handful on the North American continent.

Tony Evans, Cut and Finish, 1 year at NS, 14 years on snow; After years spent on the retail side of snowboarding Big Tony decided to head to Colorado to get his shred on and learn to make boards from the best.

Seth Wahlert, Finishing/Quality Control, 6 years at NS, 15 years on snow, 4 years on longboards; When Seth isn't making fine snowboards or peeling himself off the asphalt he is peeling salmon off a fishing boat in Alaska.

Chris Harris, Marketing and Promotions Manager, 1 year at NS, 24 years on snow; A New Yorker with a frequently foul mouth Chris came to Never Summer after putting Echo Mountain on the map. He is obsessed with Harry Potter and snowboarding which explains the board... If only Hermione Granger snowboarded.

Shawna Paoli, Intern Extrodinaire, .5 years at NS, 9 years on snow; Shawna was born 30 years too late since she loves the Jam Bands... Loves working at Never Summer for free and has a huge crush on Napoleon Dynamite. Shawna is working on a Marketing degree at CU and her bulldog Rosie can't wait to live the high life when she starts getting paid...
